Inlays & Onlays

Have you ever fractured a tooth? Do your teeth look dark blue to black? These situations can be caused when a filling is too large and becomes defective. In addition, if a cavity is large it will also weaken the tooth and a filling is not the answer. Rather than replace all the tooth structure with a crown, Dr. Gazerro may suggest a more conservative restoration called an Inlay or Onlay.

The tooth is prepared selectively by removing only the weakened or compromised areas. Using our CEREC CAD/CAM system, the tooth is imaged, the inlay or onlay is designed on the comptuer and then fabricated in our milling device from a solid block of porcelain.

One the restoration is bonded into place and helps to secure and support the remaining portions of the tooth. It is a durable, long lasting, lifelike restoration that will provide years of service.
